| What would I need to go sea fishing? |
|
| |
If you've decided that you can go the distance and pursue sea fishing as a hobby, this would be a good time to start stocking up on sea fishing equipment. You'll find the essential tools below:
• Rod and reel - the rod supports the weight of your catch and must be replaced regularly before it succumbs to bending stress. A reel, which stores the spool of fishing line, will last longer
• Bait - preferably live, and can be worms, crabs, or smaller fish
• Fishing tackle - includes floats, hooks, and other rigs to help you capture a bite and reel in the fish
• Knife - should be sharp and with an easy-to-grip handle
• Chopping board - to prepare your catch for cleaning and cooking
• A bucket for your catches and bait
• A cloth for wiping and gripping
Hat and gloves - for blocking out the sun
• A spare spool of line. Try to spool the fishing line in an even pattern, avoiding tangles and knots that can impede your casting.
• First aid kit - to cover and cleanse cuts, scrapes and other possible injuries
Fishing tackle shops stock all of this sea fishing equipment, and you can tell them which fishing activity you're planning to do so they can get the appropriate sizes for you. Remember to invest in quality fishing equipment; after all, you wouldn't want to watch the line or worse the rod break just when you've got a prized fish.
